On how it started
“I started The Hustle with $0 and no clue what I was doing. I figured it out as I went. That's the only way you figure it out.”
It took us a little over 2 years, but we now reach over 1 million subscribers a day. When we started The Hustle, I drove a beat-up car and had maybe a few thousand to my name. No investors, no blueprint, no mentors. Just a newsletter about business and a willingness to figure it out daily.
On ideas vs. execution
“Ideas are worth nothing. Everyone has ideas. Execution is worth everything. Almost nobody executes.”The Anti-MBA · 2021
On boring businesses
“The most boring business idea in the room is usually the best one. Boring means proven demand. Boring means less competition. Boring means you can win.”
— The Hustle — 1M Readers
On overthinking
“Most 'research' is just fear in a trench coat pretending to be diligence.”The Anti-MBA · 2023
“I grew up blue collar. I never fit in at the fancy startup scene. That chip on my shoulder is the best asset I have.”
